Last week, we finished the #europeanvacationartchallenge for the DaphXine Art Challenge that my sister Daphsam Photography & Art where the focus was on Russia. I’ve never been to Russia but I have always been a great admirer of the Russian onion domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow.

I had a lot of fun drawing the onion domes over and over again and painting them with colorful designs, mimicking the beautiful domes of St. Basil’s.

Since I have always been someone who played and loved dolls as a child, I definitely wanted to try to draw/watercolor one of the beautiful traditional Russian nesting dolls, also known as matryoshka dolls.

The October DaphXine Art Challenge will focus on #WatercolorAutumnDelights2020 – we are always hoping more people will join in our challenge. It’s easy to do, you can do all the weeks or just one week! Be sure to tag your post with #WatercolorAutumnDelights2020
