When I was growing up I spent my summer in barns. The first photo is the barn where I spent most of my time. It’s the barn where we would do plays in, it’s the barns where we would play spin the bottle in. It’s the barn that two of our friends would burn down to the ground as teenagers; so I’m thankful that I have this photo of the barn.

The banner photo is an old house that I spent many nights in when I would sleep over at my friends house. I remember hanging out in her attic where there was a hammock that we would play on. The latches on all the doors were the black iron ones which would freak me out as a kid since I was used to door knobs and locks.

Every day during my summers in Sherman, CT, I would ride my bike down to see my friends and would pass this horse barn. I beautiful classic red barn which bagan my appreciate for red barns.

Eventually, I would come to pass another red barn, this one much bigger than one I passed in Sherman. This red barn is a huge red barn that sometimes has either a huge American flag draped on the side or an enormous Christmas wreath.

I always admired the brown barn in Irwin Park. Once a private residence (I remember all those years back when it was), the land and buildings were given over to the town of New Canaan for open recreational space.Irwin has a great walking path and beautiful orchards to side in and admire the tulips and daffodils in the spring. My favorite has always been the barn though.
