As Clouds Roll By

Clouds can make a photograph so much more dramatic. They set a tone. I took this photo after sailing one evening. I was ‘rail meat’ not knowing anything about sailing, I was along for the opportunity to take photographs out on the water and to hang out with the guy I had started to date. I sat on the side of the boat they needed me to sit and when, thus the term ‘rail meat’. That was almost 9 years ago now and the guy I was just dating – we’ve been together ever since. 🙂

I took this photo while the crew was busy putting the boat to bed, they never noticed it. I was amazed at the reflection of the evening light on the water. I hadn’t spend much time on the water, let alone at sunset. They were old sailors that had seen countless sunsets and sunrises on the water and just wanted to go in and crack open some cold brews and or a few rum and Cokes.
